“I was a gipsy woman in a previous life”, said Alcione when she walked into the studio to record her participation. The name “Zingaro”, for gipsy, probably comes from the Italian equivalent of Greek Athigganoi. As a verb, it means to wander, to travel without destination. “I do want to lose myself in the endless expanse, and in the open fields, recognize yet another grain of myself, and harvest in return the love I deserve. I do want to enter the burning cities, like a son, like a clown, like a sultan. In the paths I trail, than, each one shall be my brother.”
